Holy Scripture
We believe that the books of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God. Through the Holy Spirit, God guided the writers of Scripture so that through what they wrote He might reveal His will and truth to mankind.
The Bible is the highest authority for our faith, doctrine, and life. Therefore every teaching and spiritual practice must be tested by Holy Scripture.
The Word of God reveals the way of salvation, instructs the believer, convicts of sin, corrects, and helps us grow in righteousness.

The Triune God
We believe in the one true and eternal Triune God—the Creator of heaven and earth and of all that exists.
The one God eternally exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Each Person possesses the fullness of the divine nature; yet there are not three Gods, but one God.
God is holy, righteous, almighty, all-knowing, and unchanging. He is worthy of all glory, honor, worship, and obedience.

God the Father
We believe in God the Father—eternal, holy, righteous, and almighty. He is the Creator and Sovereign of all that exists and accomplishes all things according to His perfect will.
God the Father sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, into the world for the salvation of sinners. Through faith in Christ, those who are saved receive the right to be called children of God and to approach God as their heavenly Father.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, truly God and truly Man.
He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. While living on earth, Jesus Christ was tempted, yet remained completely without sin.
He willingly gave His life on the cross for our sins, was buried, and bodily rose from the dead on the third day. After His resurrection He ascended into heaven and is at the right hand of the Father.
We believe that only through Jesus Christ can a person receive forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and eternal life.

The Holy Spirit
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine Person, equal with the Father and the Son.
The Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, brings a person to recognize his need for Christ, and brings about the spiritual new birth of the believer.
He dwells in every true believer, guides him into truth, helps in prayer, produces spiritual fruit, and gives strength to live a life pleasing to God.

The Creation and Fall of Man
We believe that God created mankind in His own image and likeness. Man and woman were created by God and originally lived in fellowship with their Creator.
However, the first man sinned by disobeying God's command. Through the fall, sin and death entered the human world.
All people are sinners and cannot, by their own efforts, religious ceremonies, or good works, remove their guilt before a holy God. Therefore every person needs salvation and reconciliation with God.

Salvation
We believe that salvation is the gift of God's grace and is possible only through the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
A person receives salvation not through personal merit, good works, or religious ceremonies, but through repentance toward God and personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Christ bore the punishment for our sins on the cross. Everyone who sincerely turns to God, repents of his sins, and believes in Christ as Lord and Savior receives forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.

Can Salvation Be Lost?
Yes, we believe that a person can lose salvation.
Holy Scripture calls the believer to abide in Christ, keep the faith, and not return to a deliberate life of sin. Sin is not a harmless fall: if a person remains in sin, refuses to repent, and refuses to forsake it, he places his soul in real danger.

John 15:6
The apostle Paul also warns believers that living according to the flesh leads to death.
…
Romans 8:13
Scripture therefore warns the believer not to presume that he stands beyond the danger of falling.
…
1 Corinthians 10:12
An even more serious warning is given to those who, after receiving the knowledge of the truth, deliberately continue in sin.
…
Hebrews 10:26
Therefore a believer must not comfort himself with the thought that salvation once received permits him to remain in sin without repentance. God calls us to abide in Christ, fight against sin, and walk in sanctification.
If a believer sins, Scripture shows the way back to God: acknowledge the sin, sincerely repent, and ask God for forgiveness.

1 John 1:9
…
1 John 2:1
Therefore our position is simple: salvation cannot be earned by works—it is given by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. But the believer is called to remain in Christ, live in repentance, and pursue holiness. Deliberately remaining in sin without repentance and turning away from Christ places a person in real danger of losing salvation.

9
New Life in Christ
We believe that a true turning to God brings a change in a person's life.
Salvation is not merely an outward profession of faith. The born-again person receives new life in Christ and is called to leave the former sinful way of life, grow in holiness, and become more like Christ.
Good works are not the cause of our salvation, but they become the natural fruit of living faith.

The Church
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church.
A local church is an assembly of believers in Jesus Christ united for the worship of God, the preaching and study of the Word of God, prayer, Christian fellowship, mutual service, and the spread of the Gospel.
The church must be governed by the teaching of Holy Scripture and maintain spiritual independence in carrying out its ministry under the authority of Jesus Christ.

Baptism
We believe that water baptism was instituted by Jesus Christ for those who have personally repented and believed in Him.
Baptism is not a means of obtaining salvation. It is the believer's conscious testimony of faith in Christ and symbolizes union with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection.
Following the New Testament example, we baptize believers by immersion in water.

We believe that the Lord's Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ for the Church as a remembrance of His sacrifice.
The bread reminds us of Christ's body given for us, and the cup of His blood shed for the forgiveness of sins.
In partaking of the Lord's Supper, believers remember the death of Christ, examine themselves before God, and proclaim the Lord's death until He returns.

We believe that every Christian is called to live a life worthy of the Lord.
The believer should grow in the knowledge of God, prayer, the study of Holy Scripture, love, humility, purity, and service to others.
We are called not to conform to the spirit of this world, but to allow God to transform our thinking and life according to His Word.

The Christian Family
We believe that the family was established by God. Biblical marriage is the union of one man and one woman.
Husband and wife are called to love one another, remain faithful, and build family life according to the Word of God. Parents are entrusted with the responsibility of raising their children in the teaching and admonition of the Lord and of passing on faith and biblical values by their own example.

Prayer
We believe that prayer is an essential part of the life of the believer and the Church.
Through prayer we come to God with worship and thanksgiving, confess our sins, bring our needs to Him, and intercede for others.
We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, trusting God's wisdom and His perfect will.

We believe that Jesus Christ commissioned His Church to proclaim the Gospel to all people.
Therefore every believer is called to be a witness of Christ, and the Church is called to preach the Good News, call people to repentance and faith, and instruct those who believe in the teaching of Jesus Christ.

Resurrection, Judgment, and Eternity
We believe in the resurrection of the dead and the final judgment of God.
Holy Scripture teaches the eternal life of the saved in the presence of God and the eternal condemnation of those who reject God's salvation.
Our hope is not in this earthly life, but in God's promise of eternal life with Him.
